Your mornings are nobody else’s business.

Slowrise has no accounts and no advertising. Your plans and alarms live on your phone. The little that leaves it is tied to an anonymous ID rather than to you, and is used only to run and improve the app.

What the app stores

Slowrise keeps your wake plans, the days you’ve assigned them to, and your morning history in your iPhone’s own app storage. Your scheduled alarms are additionally held by iOS itself, through Apple’s AlarmKit, so they can ring while the app is closed. All of this stays on your device and is covered by your device’s encryption.

If you have iCloud device backups turned on, that storage may be included in your backup — that is between you and Apple, and we have no access to it.

What the app sends

Each install gets a random, anonymous ID — no name, email or phone number attached. The app uses it to send a limited amount of information to the service providers that help run Slowrise:

• Your upcoming alarms, so features like the Lock Screen wake window can work when the app isn’t open. Only what’s coming up is kept, and it is replaced as your schedule changes.
• Anonymous usage information, such as which features are used, app and device versions, and general schedule details, so we can see what works and fix what doesn’t.
• Feedback you choose to send, with an email address only if you add one, which we use only to reply.

The app may also check for settings we can change without an update. None of this is used for advertising, and none of it is sold.

What we never collect

We do not collect your name, contacts, location, health or sleep data, microphone or camera input, or advertising identifiers. We never sell or share what we do have, and we don’t use it for advertising.

This website

slowriseapp.com is a static site hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for delivery and security purposes. Fonts are served from this site rather than a third party.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, so we can tell which of our writing is worth keeping. It sets no cookies, stores no identifier on your device, and cannot follow you to any other site. What we see is aggregate: how many people read a page, roughly where in the world from, and which link brought them. Never who you are.

Children

Slowrise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Delete data, at the bottom of Settings in the app, removes your plans, alarms and settings from your phone and your upcoming alarms from our servers, and gives the app a new anonymous ID, so nothing sent afterwards is linked to what came before. Deleting the app removes what’s on the phone. To have anything else removed, such as feedback you’ve sent, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. If a change ever means Slowrise starts collecting something, we’ll say so plainly in the app before it does.
